» » Escape to the Paradise Beach (2 days 1 night) - $316

Hai Phong is used to be well-known as the primary seaport of the country’s northern region for at least several centuries, and one of Vietnam's principal trading centres. Nowadays, the city has also gradually gained great tourism achievements with its variety of historical sites, temples, pagodas, mausoleums, and shrines, all proof of a rich traditional community.
Location: in the Red River Delta, 105km from Hanoi, on the Coast of the South Chinese Sea, near Quang Ninh Province to the north, Hai Duong Province to the west, and Thai Binh Province to the south.
Access: 2 hours by plane from and to Ho Chi Minh City, departed from Cat Bi Airport. 2 and a half hours by car or by train from Hanoi. Daily ferries to Cat Ba Island. Hydrofoil boats between Hai Phong – Cat Ba and Hai Phong – Hon Gai. High speed air-conditioned Thong Nhat Boat daily between Hai Phong – Cat Ba.
Main attractions: Hai Phong sea port, the first and unique foreign joint-venture casino at Do Son, 300-year-old Du Hang pagoda, Hang Kenh communal house, Cat Ba Island and Cat Ba National Park.

Day 1: Hanoi – Hai Phong – Cat Ba (-/L/D)       
In the morning:
8:00- 8:30 a.m: Pick you up at the hotel and transfer to Hai Phong (120km).
10.30 a.m: Arrival in Hai Phong, visit Hang Kenh Temple, which is famous for its valuable wooden sculpture: total 308 dragons of different shapes and sizes and Du Hang Pagoda, where many historical relics have been found: Buddha statues, bronze urns, bells, gongs and the prayer book of Trang A Ham, an ancient Buddhist script.
12.00: Lunch with fresh seafood is served (vegetarian and kids menus available).
1.00 p.m: Travel by boat to the site of a massive cave known as Thien Long Cave (or “Heavenly Dragon” Cave). Then transfer to Phu Long harbor, cycling through typical coastal village to Cat Ba Island and visit Cat Ba National Park.
For sea lovers who seek relaxation and peacefulness in the embrace of emerald seas, the island opens its arms with Cat Vang beach and Cat Co Beach, where mountains look like a throne holding a marvelous sandy beach.
5.00 p.m: Check in hotel in Cat Ba Island.
Pack lightly; swimwear and a set of dry clothes, and as there are different activities during the day bring both shoes (such as trainers) and flip-flops or sandals.
7.00 p.m: Dinner and overnight at hotel in Cat Ba Island.
The small and ancient town can satisfy the desire of gaining authentically local cultural experiences, with clusters of fishing boats and inspiring sunsets across the harbor. Visitors can check out the catch of the day in the early morning, see cuttlefish dried over hot charcoals, or stroll around the old town.

Day 2: Cat Ba – Lan Ha- Halong – Hanoi (B/L/-)     
In the morning:
You can greet the early morning sunrise from windows of the hotel, watching sun light shining on every island, waking up every floating houses and gradually covering the whole area.
7.30 a.m: After breakfast, transfer to Beo Wharf. Get on the day trip boat and cruise along Lan Ha Bay. More kayaking, more swimming, more sandy beaches, more floating houses, definitely a "cruise++”…
11.00 a.m: You will visit the Halong Bay’s largest cave named Sung Sot (Amazing Cave), walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat.
12.00: Back to the boat relax on the sundeck for a while and multi-course lunch with Vietnamese specialties will be served mid-day

In the afternoon:
1.00 p.m: Cruise around Halong Bay, and take photos before cruising back to the harbor. On the way, witness the beauty of Dinh Huong Island (incense burner), Cho Da Island (stone dog), and Ga Choi Island (fighting cocks).
2.00 p.m: Disembark and take a bus from Halong City return to Hanoi with short break on the way. Arrive in Hanoi around 7:00 pm and say goodbye at your hotel.

- Tides and weather conditions may alter the times of meals and other activities.

- For your convenience, and if you can arrange smaller backpacks, please leave your big suitcase at ODC's secure storage.
- On the way to Halong and back to Hanoi, we will stop at a place with food, beverages and souvenirs for sale. This is not to trick you and that will be the only times of the whole trip you may feel in the tourism mass. But that is the only place on the way, where you, your driver and your guide can use clean toilets without being forced to buy anything. Thanks for your understanding.
